Azerbaijan saw a record 11.4% increase in the number of international visitors in 2019. This includes over 316,000 Turkish visitors, an impressive 8.6% increase compared to 2018. The Azerbaijan Tourism Board decided to host a dinner in Istanbul with the help of H+K Istanbul. More than 15 journalists joined the dinner at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Istanbul on 29th January. The assembled media had the chance to taste unique food and wines from Azerbaijan while listening to traditional Azerbaijan music. Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board made a speech at the event and invited Turkish people to participate in EURO 2020 football matches scheduled in the capital city, Baku. The event was widely covered in the print and online media, and also attracted TV coverage.
